I think one of the WAFB meteorologists said 75-77 mph sustained and up to 100 mph gusts

Said there was a 62 percent chance winds go over 75 mph. The record is from Gustav at 62 mph and 91 mph gusts. Betsy had lower sustained speeds and 92 mph gusts.

I no nothing about hurricanes but have had a tornado hit very close to the house. Took down 2 big ash trees. Unfortunately one of those partly on the house. It hit without warning. I’m curious why with several days notice why you are riding it out? Cat 4 doesn’t seem something to mess with. Have you done this before?

It isn’t going to be a Category 4 in Baton Rouge, not even close. It is going to be a Category 1.

Which is terrible and will be a level worse than Gustav, and Baton Rouge has never had sustained hurricane winds ever for more than a minute.

But it’s not a Category 4 that people will experience in Terrebone or wherever landfall occurs.

I think power companies actually start killing power before it gets too bad… just to prevent transformers and shite blowing. Just my educated guess

Riding it out in Shenandoah with my husband, daughter ( no pics) an aging pug, and two cats. It's going to be interesting.

Savoie,La. Bayou Blue Houma.

The line keeps moving. Now it’s about three miles behind my place.

Winds picking up. Water came up about 1 foot in the last hour at my boat landing despite the wind blowing out of the North.

We just parked our extra trucks up in the front where it is a little higher. Going to be an interesting next 12 hours or so.
