I am all for people being rehabilitated and truly changing their lives around after serving their time. But what the OP described was a horrific crime, and Im not so sure he served enough time at all.

Very wealthy and influential family in Acadia and St Landry Parish, whom some people feel the need to suck up to, even on an anonymous message board.
The influential family folks are influential because they are stand up folks.
Are they well off compared to those in Richard or branch and lawtell
Yes. But wealthy come on
I know folks in both families surprised the other family has not been more vocal

It’s actually a very important story. So far disallowing life sentences for juveniles has been proven to be the right decision by tSCOTUS.
According to the article, NONE of the juvenile offenders released after previously receiving life sentences have ended up back in prison. That’s huge.

That's society.
Excuse the thousands who did things the righ way and focus on the one guy who murdered someone.
While I commend him for turning it around, find some single mom who worked her arse off and didn't take a life to highlight

Correct. None have re-offended. Pretty good track record.
Someone mentioned it's because he's white, but a lot of black guys who were juveniles have benefited from that Supreme Court ruling.

He originally got life without parole but got out on probation in 2005 (just 4 years after sentencing).
Unless I’m thinking of another story, that kid wasn’t paroled. His conviction was overturned by an appeals court.
From what I remember, it seemed like the right call. The facts surrounding the case seemed dubious.

Yet.
Give it time. With any luck, the victim will be the child of one of the parole board memebers.

Yes, but I am assuming all of them murdered someone.

Hopefully this kind of crap is just message board bluster. It would be a shame to find out that some of you really are this awful of human beings.
