A 15 year old boy committed murder and turned his life around after being released on parole? Is that not what we want? He can’t take back what he did to his victim, but he’s at least trying to be a better person. If he has any concious at all, he will never stop thinking about the life he took. It will haunt him for the rest of his life.

He committed a crime as a child, and he’s been corrected. We’re not entitled to his head on a plate.

Well, it's not what I want, per se but it's the best that I can hope for seeing that he's already released.

Seems pretty chipper in that picture so it's probably not consuming him night and day, if we're being honest here.

Usually I’d agree but he isn’t some 3 strike loser. He murdered a girl and tried to destroy evidence when he was old enough to know better. That’s not a “whoops I’m just a dumb teenager figuring out life” mistake, that’s cold blooded murder

I do wonder what the reaction would be if he weren’t white...

He was in the can for 20ish years. He wasn’t given the “whoops” treatment.

He’ll kill again. He isn’t remorseful and doesn’t think about what he did. He isn’t deserving of a second chance or turning his life around. He should have been shanked in prison, or arse raped by some big black guard. But instead the bleeding heart libtards let him out. And when he does kill the next person, they will be nowhere to be found.

Maybe he’ll die in a car wreck. Or be the victim of a violent crime and die. That would be some sweet karma.

And he should still be in. Just my $.02. Recidivism is great and all but you can’t come back from some stuff.

If he was black there’s no doubt in my mind he wouldn’t have gotten parole

He wasn’t given the treatment he was sentenced to either. Also wasn’t give close to the treatment he took the time to think about and carried out for his victim.

GFY, you and your “holy than thou” social justice warriors. Again, have fun supporting convicted murderers and rapists over the rights of their victims.

Not a child an adolescent. Less than a year away of being able to drive and get a job. If he caused an accidental death say running a red light I could somewhat understand. The viciousness of his crime is unforgivable. I’m sure the victims family is devastated.

Based on his crime, his age when he committed it, and the brutality of his crime. He’s a POS. Deserves the death penalty. Got life and is now out. He’ll kill again. It’s guaranteed.
With any luck, he started smoking while in the pen and cancer or heat disease is already coursing they his body.

I get the anger at the advocate for the article. Yet people always bitch about the lack of rehabilitation in prisons. Our justice system locked up a criminal for his crimes. It seems the guy turned around his life and you're going to bash him for it? You would rather the guy rot in jail over trying to help others?

He murdered someone. A 14 year old girl. His life goes on and her’s ended 17 years ago. I believe in prison as rehabilitation for criminals, but not murderers. Not someone who was capable of doing what he did, even though he was 15.

I don't know how I feel about this.

He killed someone who never had the opportunity to graduate high school and go on and live their life. And didn't just kill that kid, he tried to burn the body.

But I guess since he is out of jail he is doing something with his life.

Yeah, people seem to be missing this basic concept.

I want prison to be used to rehabilitate illiterate weed dealers and purse snatchers serving serious time.

I'm quite good with prison as strictly a vehicle for punishment when it comes to murderers and rapists.

If he wasn’t 15 years old at the time of the murder, I would agree with you. I am a strong supporter of the death penalty in capital cases, and I genrally believe a murderer should receive life in prison. I just can’t see not giving a kid a second chance.

If Adam Lanza or Dylan Kliebold were still alive, would you want to give them a second chance?
