Sheeeeshhhh...that's one situation where you confiscate the knife, inform the mother, and just keep everything hush hush.

Obligatory zero-tolerance re-post:

Chalk it up to "zero tolerance policies", which have my vote for the worst concept ever introduced to schools.

Anyone ever thought about the logic behind "zero-tolerance policies?" They are policies designed to look like safeguards, but in reality they are simply tools to cover the arse of administrative figures in the event they make a retarded decision.

So with "zero-tolerance policies," no decision has to be made, because it's zero-tolerance. Throw an imaginary grenade at recess and get suspended? "See? See? It's in the school handbook. ZERO TOLERANCE! There's nothing we can do to help you!"

So essentially zero-tolerance policies are designed to relieve administration of one of the biggest responsiblities they have: make decisions. Only cowards or inept leaders/decision-makers implement zero-tolerance policies.

Congratulations school. you just taught this young man an important civics lesson: if you have to choose between honesty and covering your arse...cover your arse. I bet he'll grow up to be a successful politician.

When I was in school this is what every vehicle in the parking lot looked like AND no one locked the vehicle doors.

Zero tolerance laws are stupid.

The Principal or counselor could certainly overrule this if they wanted. Or tell the kid thanks, call the mom to pick the knife up and don't even report anything.

The problem with zero tolerance laws is pussies in charge use them as an excuse to be a bitch and not make decisions

It's a shame that there aren't useful idiots on the right, like the ridiculous SJW's on the left. It would be glorious to stage protests at the school, at the principal's house, at the school board, etc.

Maybe some professional athletes could bring styrofoam knives to the stadium and drop them on the field during the National Anthem or some other attention whoring tactic to bring attention to this cultural sickness and the injustice done to students subjected to zero tolerance rules.

Alas, conservatives are busy working and taking care of their families, and generally minding their own damn business. If the cork in that bottle ever comes loose, however, look out!

But wait. I know a Kenneth and he is pigmented fairly well so the name check doesn't prove to be 100% correct.
