Being that it was 2 women and a 10 year old, I'm betting on they were underweight and it threw the ride dynamics off

Sounds like it....rafts are supposed to be 400 lbs....the Mail is saying child was decapitated and the women had serious injuries.

That ride is just a bad idea all around.

yeah a 10yr old and 2 women each had to weigh an avg of 133. to meet the min 400lbs requirement.

We used to do a lot of stuff when I was a kid that I wouldn't let my kids do.

We used to do that with old kneeboards, until my little brothers pinky caught the grass and broke.

We'd get in the bucket of the trackhoe and spin it around like the sizzler.

We'd have Roman candle wars. We'd build forts out of pieces of rusty metal and pallets.

We'd sail down the bayou on a makeshift boat.

A little danger makes for adventure.

It's a counter to the people damming the ride.

remember Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, The Beast and Splash Mountain have all killed people as well.

Just because you can make something the "biggest in the world" doesn't mean you should.

after the story where the ENTIRE car flies off of the track?

That ride needed helmets and Nascar style harnesses.

My wife and I did a tube slide years ago in DFW I believe. There was a blind part to the tube/slide. There was NOT much clearance for my head. I never hit it or anything, but if you can put your hand up and touch it, its too close.

I'm guessing he hit the net, which gave way some, causing his neck to get caught on the wire support. Horrible.
