I forgot about Torres, he will be in the mix, and also a terrible mayor with no political experience. Also he is a chalmation.

There will never be a solution because nobody is allowed to identify the problem even though it's obvious.
But since I'm not beholden to Mitch or the NOPD, let me tell you what the problem is..... Young, black, unemployed (mostly) males who get subsidized housing in prime real estate locations who will always have the same dress code.
There... problem solved. Start profiling and eliminating Section 8. You're welcome, Mitch.

Consider the amount of time it takes to cross bourbon in either direction. It's a traffic nightmare and people from out of town are clueless.
I'd venture to say most locals stay the frick away from the quarter at all costs.
You can see them. Car crossing bourbon honking the horn and the driver motioning with hands? Not a local. Car slowly crossing with driver slowly waving people across with a blank stare on their face, shaking there head as if to say "I am better than this. I know better than this."? That's a local.

Closing The Quarter off during peak tourist times would be easier to pull off than this.
But it is really just "code" for doing exactly what you describe.

Mitch is fricking clueless.
Benches on Bourbon Street is just an obstruction for drunk people to walk into and trip over when Bourbon is shoulder to shoulder crowded during Mardi Gras, New Year or any special events. On normal nights, it'll just end up being a place for drunks to pass out and throw up all over. Trees and planters will end up being puked and pissed on too.
Bourbon's culcha was fricked up decades ago when some idiots thought it would be a great idea to put a housing project within walking distance of French Quarter. What could go wrong with putting a complex full of low income free housing within a few blocks of the city's historic crown jewel and biggest attraction for tourists.
Instead of wasting money on beautification projects on Bourbon that will end up being trashed as soon as they're put up, Mitch should be spending that money to pay the firefighters and fix the streets.

So you hate the blue blood political families because they may be corrupted, but chalmations are too low-born to be mayor?

First off the iberville projects aren't even there anymore and when they were they were one of the lower crime riddled projects first off
2ndly, you know what makes the engine in the quarter run? The dishwashers and bus boys and bartenders and hotel cleaning ladies that have live within walking distance to the quarter.... why you think it's a destination that is fairly cheap and able to handle such a large volume of tourist at one time? It's the underbelly service industry workers
Posted on 3/14/17 at 9:07 am to SuperSaint
the Iberville was "low-crime" because they all left every day to go rob people in the quarter/CBD/Armstrong Park like it was a 9-5.

I didn't say ALL of those neighborhoods were section 8, but you're naive if you don't think there is a fair number of units sprinkled throughout those areas.
And it doesn't take much of it to ruin a neighborhood and effect housing prices.

Considering how bad the crime was/is in the NO projects. the title of "least crime riddled" isn't exactly something I'd be proud of.
