I moved back from New Mexico a year ago. I have two family haulers that can overland, this was just a simple question for anyone that has a hybrid in this time period. This vehicle is explicitly for south Alabama to North Alabama family visits.
ETA: mileage is 145k
Wait what? You have two other suv's and just bought this one why?

You're goddamned right I'm bragging, 3% highly used.
Yea I don't get why borrowing carries such a stigma when the APRs are so damned low and you can keep your cash on hand for emergencies or investments yielding >3%.

They're paid off, run great, but average 15 mpg. New rig nets 28 for north bama runs to visit family.

Toyota Hybrids are fantastic vehicles.

I have a 2010 Prius with 148,000 mi. Never had a single issue with it.

If your current vehicles “run great” the MPG difference doesn’t warrant paying $14k for another vehicle, especially an almost 10 year old vehicle…

I think his point is that even at 13 mpg better mileage in the Highlander, it will take a Long time to cover the $13k purchase price, the extra insurance and the state fees.

13K on 145k miles seems high.
