Third family hauler, no experience with hybrids, where will it drain my pocket book?

Got it for $13,600 clean car fax.

ETA: I know, battery is $2k, just seeing if folks have a what to look out for list.

Great question...
...to ask before you buy.

Awesome, thanks. I'm well versed on how to buy a vehicle, my credit union was willing to loan $19k on it. I'm good here. But thanks for your contribution.

I will check with my wife. She would know more about this type of car than me.

With a response like that, my dick is definitely a lot bigger.

Look at this guy on the OT bragging about borrowing money to buy a 2012 Highlander....

Then balking at the notion he should have did his due diligence prior to buying.

You go dude.

We have a 2013 that isn’t a hybrid but it runs like new. We’ve had it for about 3 years or so. Needs new tires but other than that it hasn’t needed anything.

Maybe so but mine don’t need a battery for extra horsepower.

260 without any extra boost. You don't need inflated numbers when you can push the distance, you dig?

Might help if you posted the mileage. I have a 2012 Tacoma with 110k miles. Oil, tires, battery and brakes is all I've had to worry about.

I don't know shite about the hybrid but we had a 2010 Highlander that was one rock-solid Family Truckster.
In 9 years we took all 4 shite biscuits on vacations/LSU Road Games to Fayetteville, Auburn, Gatlinburg, Destin/Gulf Shores twice, Austin, and Nashville.

Not a single problem or complaint with that vehicle. The gf traded it in with 200k miles on it in 2020.
You did good.

I love highlanders but a 10 year old hybrid battery could get interesting.

I moved back from New Mexico a year ago. I have two family haulers that can overland, this was just a simple question for anyone that has a hybrid in this time period. This vehicle is explicitly for south Alabama to North Alabama family visits.

ETA: mileage is 145k

Uh. The Highlander is the antithesis of that stereotype. Those moms drive the Yukon XL's with the back windshield covered in Braxxton's stickers from the three different teams he plays for. And a trailer hitch cargo carrier that stays attached back there year round.
