your current vehicles “run great” the MPG difference doesn’t warrant paying $14k for another vehicle.
Let's be honest, a $14k vehicle purchase is towards the bottom of bad financial decisions. Got a great deal, I'm comfortable with my financial decisions, was just looking for advice on maintenance.
The OT is the place the insecure pretend they're better than everyone. It's an amazing place really.

13K on 145k miles seems high.
All used vehicles are going for high prices. Some new vehicles are selling for over sticker price. There is a shortage of new vehicles, and it has affected the used car market.

Some folks just don’t get it. I’m borrowing money at 2-4% and making 10 to 15% on the cash I’ve still got. Of course I’m doing that! Got a friend who pays cash for all new vehicles. “So he won’t have a note”.

think his point is that even at 13 mpg better mileage in the Highlander, it will take a Long time to cover the $13k purchase price, the extra insurance and the state fees.
The other vehicles serve other purposes. I'm not financially hurting, I'm not buying $80k trucks, just bought a different vehicle to fill a niche.
Why this turned into some pissing contest I don't know. If you don't know about the hybrid system, just stay quiet. You guys are worse than my wife.

I don’t disagree with that at all, but the fact that you have two vehicles that “run great” makes it seem like a bad financial decision . $14k for something that drives to and from north Alabama sounds a bit ridiculous, but your money, not mine

Gx470 built to overland, a 2500 Suburban built to tow, they're more expensive to maintain, put tires on, and wear down for the needs they're built for. This was a conscious decision, wasn't looking for a lecture, just fricking advice on the hybrid system. Way too difficult to talk here

Wait. You just spent $13,600 on a 10 year old car with nearly 150,000 miles?
Come swing by my house. I have a shite ton of stuff I’m just now inspired to sell. I’ll give you a 10% friend discount

I sure did!
Guess the smarter purchase was a new one for $50k!

Then why are you here? You knew what your result would be, you receive said result and then you bitch the entire thread of how everyone calls you out for dropping $14K on a 10yo vehicle with 150K miles.
