Maybe a dumb question but is it necessary to stock up on bottle water in a hurricane when you live in Baton Rouge? If so, why?

water systems can shut down, contaminated water, the list goes on

always have bottled water when a storm is coming.

go fill up a bathtub in case you need water later

Even if you don't use it you can stand on the interstate off-ramp and sell it to motorists next Summer.

The saddest reality of your comment is that your vote counts as much as mine.

You should have 3 days worth of bottled water for your entire household at all times.

U don't need to buy water, fill up some containers from tap water, can't wash dishes or body without water. Much better if u have some potable water containers

In Shenandoah the water system is run off of a diesel generator. The water guy told me we should never have to worry about water when I lived there. I always had a few cases of bottle water on hand but I never bought extra.

Baton Rouge water is basically pipes and pumping since it’s all from the Southern Hills Aquifer. Likelihood of losing water is prett low but not impossible.

Places that have actual water treatment facilities that pull from and treat surface water is where you are more likely to really need backup water supplies. Basically if you have a water treatment plant (eg: New Orleans, Jefferson Parish, Lake Charles, etc).
