God flooded the Earth and killed everyone.

I'm not going to argue that Louisiana is a well functioning state, but every state teaches the same.
I'll still trust the state of Louisiana over some dumb rogue teacher, who's probably lived in Bossier her whole life

I would abolish all public employee unions everywhere, but considering this is a story specifically about a public school teacher in Louisiana, I tailored my answer to that one specific union.

Funniest part of that post...
Yeah buddy, lets go ahead and bump the thread 20 years to the day you posted that.

Seems like we're arguing two different points.
My point was that Louisiana is a right-to-work state. There is no such thing as teacher tenure or union contracts. At best, a veteran teacher is entitled to a formal hearing in the wake of termination proceedings/non-renewal.

Good.
Public schools should be religion free
Disagree. I went to a catholic school my whole life. We learned about all religions including Catholicism.
Should a religion be pushed on any student? No. But what is wrong about teaching about different religions?

The morals and values taught by religion is much better than those taught by television and social media.
Well, I do think when God said “be fruitful and multiply” that there should have been a hyphen by it and then God goes on a rant on people who shouldn’t multiply and how many kids are appropriate. Really God should have gone on for another 30 pages on who should breed.

I'm not sure you understand that many teachers are not part of a Union.... yet keep repeating that...

No, I'm taking an educated guess. She's a public school teacher in Bossier. I have a 90% chance to be right on this.

It’s a waste of precious learning time. Fictitious things should be learned outside of the public educational system.

Forcing a prayer before lunch, or bringing a personal religious story into health class is ridiculous.
If you want to teach religion in a public school setting, offer a class for it.

You are a fricking loon if you think creationism has any place in public schools.

Public schools are unconstitutional
Posted on 2/9/18 at 6:37 pm to JohnnyKilroy
I think all religions should be taught because of the history behind them.

Even in North Louisiana, that's not going to fly. You can think that stuff, but you can't think that's ok to tell students in a public school.
But the support comes all the way from the school board to the superintendent to the principles. Unless its a lawsuit there is no threat for the teacher openly teaching Christianity in North LA.
Its so bad in Webster Parish I wouldnt be surprised to see the feds step in.
