Under employed problems. My building has 24 hour access and security.

had that happen on a saturday working overtime. they forgot to set the door scanner to allow us in on a saturday. we lit a fire in the parking lot since it was cold and hung out for 2 hours until the boss got there to fix it. we got paid plus he brought us breakfast. it was a t&m job so the company made money on us sitting there

Same. Ours is always open with your keycard.

Unfortunately, the real world doesn’t work like college, where if the professor is 15 mins late you get to leave and go have a beer

Hit the Home Depot parking lot and wait for el jefe to roll around looking for workers.

Quite your job. Live in poverty. Teach him that you’re no pussy who’s going to sit around and wait on him.

Read tigerdroppings until he shows up. Call to see where he is.

smoke a doobie by the dumpter then go to waffle house

I'd probably make an effort to make sure the boss is okay.

Refer back to college days -- boss/professor is a minute late, you dip out. It's in the unwritten rules
Posted on 8/1/18 at 8:06 am to wazoo11
Be responsible enough to have a fricking key.
Posted on 8/1/18 at 8:19 am to wazoo11
Just document your time of arrival and get paid for waiting.

It's not like you had anything else scheduled for today other than working

Did you work at a place like a lumber yard in Boogalossa

I'd take a video of the building being inacceasible and document the times I've tried to reach by boss.
Then I'd leave.
Then I'd leave.

Are you in sales?
Service?
Office admin?
If you are in sales, go door to door introducing yourself.
If you are in service or office admin, call your boss to make sure he/she is ok (isn't having car problems and could use some help). Otherwise, wait.
