re: Boss hour late to work and building isn't open

had that happen on a saturday working overtime. they forgot to set the door scanner to allow us in on a saturday. we lit a fire in the parking lot since it was cold and hung out for 2 hours until the boss got there to fix it. we got paid plus he brought us breakfast. it was a t&m job so the company made money on us sitting there

I'd probably make an effort to make sure the boss is okay.

Refer back to college days -- boss/professor is a minute late, you dip out. It's in the unwritten rules

Just document your time of arrival and get paid for waiting.

This ain't college friend. They can write your arse up and discipline you if you aren't there, regardless of what your superior is doing. Sit and wait.

It's not like you had anything else scheduled for today other than working

I'd take a video of the building being inacceasible and document the times I've tried to reach by boss.

Then I'd leave.

Service?
Office admin?

If you are in sales, go door to door introducing yourself.

If you are in service or office admin, call your boss to make sure he/she is ok (isn't having car problems and could use some help). Otherwise, wait.
