b/c the "problem" is subjective.. what you view as defcon 5 may be defcon 1 to others...
personally, i was a big supporter of amnesty for those without criminal records and asylum seekers, as it would be the most economical, and most logical way to go about the immediate need for addressing the immigration issue... then appropriate funds to boost infrastructure of agencies that deal with immigration to solve overstayed visas and asylum claims, while boosting presence at the borders to deter illegal crossings...
Biden's open border policy is a disaster, no doubt about it, but at this point, it's much more feasible and sensible to assimilate those that show a willingness to work and be part of a productive society, while weeding out the criminals, vs. just mass deportations of millions upon millions of people...

I mean, it is rhe easiest thing to do and after 3 weeks in Kenner they rounded up 15 people.
It's a fricking joke how much we are spending to get so little results.
Right now. Tell me how many people (credited) have been rounded up and deported in Minnesota in the last two weeks between killings.
