This plus flat out telling people to confront ICE.

thought that would have been back in September when a guy was talking into a microphone and was assassinated because your side didn't like his words.

Everyone i knew, including myself, felt terrible about the Kirk murder.

Because murder is never the answer. I hope this helps you realize the gravity of this situation.

Winning this argument on the internet

who's trying to win an argument? this isn't about winning or losing... it's about right or wrong... and sorry, i don't see where assaulting one unarmed woman, and killing a then unarmed man, while they were exercising their 1st and 2nd rights, respectively, is "right"....

quote:

My stance is that in the real world, in a chaotic situation

i agree with this... perhaps better trained individuals, with more clear instruction would be better suited for this line of work..

quote:

I understand why a dude with a Sig Sauer strapped to his back, that got into an altercation with a bunch of slaw arse law enforcement agents is now dead.

the unbrandished firearm was removed from him BEFORE he was shot... he was not in possession of it, nor did he ever brandish it before being shot... and after watching that video, if you truly think he, that ONE individual, was the one do the assaulting vs. the 5-7 other individuals who, had already pepper sprayed him and began hitting him, then i really don't know what to tell you...

quote:

Am I saying he got what he deserved? No.

then stop knighting for the LEO in THIS situation... other situations, where you can defend it, i can absolutely understand... but is it really that hard to just stop at "this was wrong, period", without having to come back with a "but....." after it? there WILL BE another instance where you can and will be able to say "yeah, but", but this one ain't it...

Oh I 100% get that

But how is “man we just really fricked up and thought the suspect had the gun but really he didn’t and we did” a valid defense?

They knew an armed man was actively resisting

It is easy for us now that we know that was the only weapon he had on him after the fact

They did not have that luxury

The man armed himself and had actively put himself in the middle of a law enforcement operation & he did so because his leaders told him it was the righteous thing to do

They are taught not to carry ID. Illegal for him to carry a gun? Nope.

Actually illegal if he was CCW and didn't have his permit on him, misdemeanor to a felony depending on the circumstances. Minnesota is not a Constitutional Carry state.

Some of you are also failing to realize the situation would've never happened if ICE didn't START attacking non violent protestors

Interesting that you fault ICE for being hit by a car and then post this....

I agree its avoidable, but I put that on the people that keep getting too close to the police. Protest from across the street, and for sure, don't have guns on you or make sudden movements after a gun has been seen.

That can be true

And federal agents being overly aggressive with lethal force can be true

Personally, I'd rather live in a place where neither is the case.

Interesting that you and others have to deflect to the good situation as a poor attempt to excuse yesterdays execution.

while it's not exactly smart, it's still NOT illegal, nor should this warrant a death sentence...

I'm not knighting LEO. Where have I said as much? They completely effed up this situation.

As a citizen, bringing a gun into a situation that you know is near a boiling point, that had already reached beyond that with the Goode situation and hiding behind that as "your right" is fricking nonsense.

I can say LEO was wrong and I can say it was also wrong for this dude to bring a weapon into this situation.

Again, if this was a "peaceful protest" and this guy is "just an innocent bystander", why the frick did he have a laser sighted weapon strapped to his back?

And if you go down the "it is his right" defense, well everyone else is going to hit you with the same BS "law" that protects the officer.

My point is multiple really, really bad decisions were made here that resulted in an outcome, however terrible, that any reasonable person would expect there to be a high probability of given the circumstances.

is this legal or not? y'all are going to need to make up your mind on if it's ok for citizens to carry legal firearms, which he was, or not....

from the video we have, it certainly seems as the LEOs got into an altercation with him, rather than the other way around...

Filming is not illegal

If you want to argue that he should have bent the knee immediately when they pushed a woman down for no reason, then go for it.

I don’t know a single man in my life that would do that but perhaps you’re the first.

At any rate, that’s not why he was shot to death after being disarmed, which are the only facts that matter here. Everything else is noise.
