Eating a peanut butter sandwich without a glass of milk seems impossible.

WalMarks has their own brand for much less. Same is true with Target and other major retailers. I don't care enough about milk to pay the higher price and I am sure a lot of other people don't as well.

My kids go through 2 gallons of milk per week. What are all these other kids drinking if they are not drinking milk?

A lot of people have switched to soy and almond milk. I know we very rarely ever have real milk in my house unless we are baking something that needs it. Both me and the kid are lactose intolerant and drink soy milk. I've gotten use to the taste and it's fine on cereal. I don't enjoy drinking milk anyway, just mostly for the kid.

That cow’s milk is healthy is a myth that’s been told so long it’s become truth.Actually it’s good for calves, bad for people.Several studies have been done that show the countries that have the highest intake of dairy have the highest incidence of osteoporosis. The Harvard Nurses’Health Study is one such study.
I don’t know how to do links but an informative book is RETHINK FOOD by Castle and Goodman, can order from Amazon.
Besides detrimental health effects of dairy, modern dairy farming is disgusting.Cows don’t go out in pasture to graze, they are confined to a stall and their food is brought to them on a conveyer belt. They are shot up with hormones to increase their milk production and milked 3 times a day. This excessive milking makes them prone to mastitis so they get antibiotics for that. The FDA allows certain number of somatic cells in milk, somatic cells is medical term for pus.Think about that shite next time you are drinking that cold glass of milk.

Sad news. Borden's was my brand for years back before I found I was lactose intolerant.

Dairy industry is falling apart. Just too much milk, too much cheese out there. It’s a mess

This is true. Wapo or NYT ran an article about it being all Trump tariffs fault that a New York fairy farmer couldn’t get pizza delivered anymore

Not sure why all the down votes. The media fricking lies. I still keep up with Agriculture and they would have you believe all their problems are due to Trump.

Amen brother LSUA 75. The dairy industry is built on a scam and is gross af.

Back at LSU I'd go to the ice cream shop on Stadium and loved me some butter pecan. A friend took me to the AgCenter and when I saw the dairy cows I was fn appalled at how disgusting those herpes udders were and halted my dairy consumption then and there.

Publix has the best tasting milk by far. I grabbed some of the Walmart brand stuff recently and the decline in taste was pretty stark. I used to go through milk pretty heavily, but I'm down to only about a pint a week for smoothies.

udder bullshite.

if you saw dairy cows at the Agcenter, it was for a livestock show. The pics you posted were of cows with mastitis which are not used for milking when infected. A dairy cow that can't be milked is an expense. Thus dairies make a concerted effort to prevent mastitis. a lot of effort and money is put into herd health just to avoid that and other maladies.

stay in the city and enjoy your soy milk. you are too soft for agricultural endeavors.

right, cause the dairy doesn't pasteruize or otherwise process the milk before it sells it to the consumer? It just goes from tit to bottle, eh?

where do you people come from?

We drink about a half-gallon of milk per week. I can't tell the difference between the walmart brand and name brands. All tastes the same to me. so we go with walmart brand.

If you’re ever in NW La., try the chocolate milk from Morell’s Dairy Farm. Delish.

The owner used to run the Dairy at LSU before that real estate there got too prime for that use. Now he and his family are making artisan butter and selling whole milk & butter locally out of ”Moooringsport”. Sold in several spots around Shreveport.
