Thirty-six non-black budget reasons Boeing isn't going anywhere.
If you think airliners are expensive...
That's not even counting their space segment. Taking a significant hit to its civilian airliner operations would definitely hurt Boeing's bottom line, but their military and space divisions make a metric shite ton of money for the company.

Heh, there financials are pretty damn strong. They can take a hit and come out fine.
They had 7.9 billion in profits in 2018.
They have 8 billion in liquid assets.
And they repurchased 9 billion in stock last year.
They have options

Isn’t the head of the FAA a former Boeing exec?
We love our crony capitalism, don’t we folks? Very swampy indeed.
downvoters have no response to this
I guess the answer is to follow the Soviet model of Aeroflot safety ?

Someone should definitely go to jail. But, they wont. Boeing will shell out a few billion in fines and all will be forgotten after a while.
Until something like this happens again. Sad.

And the head FAA during approval of plane through Jan 2018 was Michael Huerta - an Obama appointee who also work in Dep of Transportation under Clinton with a private job in between at Affiliated Computer Services. Don’t see Boeing listed for him either (at least not as an executive). So he has to be thinking of someone else.
