how hard is it to just simply fly a jet? They make it seem super easy.

We had a blackhawk fly low over the water just off the shore in PCB last week, airmen waving and people on the beach chanting USA USA... and then we realized everone's tents and umbrellas were being blown to frick. LOL.

I heard somebody say "lawsuit," but since it was PCB... probably more "that was frickin' awesome' y'all"

tactical flying is a little different than just "flying" a jet

This is a great YT doc on the Blue Angels from inside the cockpit to what it takes to get there.
You can tell right away these guys are some of the best at what it takes to be part of that select group.

Did you see a few months ago in Los Angeles where they had those tactical helicopters at night doing some kind of excercise in the middle of the city full of people? Can you imagine if someone took out a gun and shot a helicopter that was flying level and like 10 feet away from their high rise apartment building because they were worried it was the Russians or Chinese attacking or something? I don’t know that I would have blamed them. Zero warning to the public on the excerise and really nothing indicating they were even American.

People can’t even drive in traffic that close without hitting each other.

I'd play "doctor" with her.

Very Cool!

On a related note, did they ever find the guy that took the drone shots of the Blues flying by during the covid tour?

When me and momma lived in Pensacola our next door neighbor was a pilot and we heard some great stories about what they did and what it took to be an Angel. Nothing but respect for those folks.

My favorite part of the show is seeing Fat Albert balls hot across the beach.

Edit: my cool Blue Angels story was me doing water survival in Pensacola bay waiting to get plucked out by a -60 and one of the solos came over our group at what i estimated as high subsonic and 50’ off the water. God Bless America.

It’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. They’ll roll by and you can smell the frickin jet fuel in the air. Those are some badass pilots
