Last week, a Manhattan jury awarded $11.25 million to 39-year-old Röbynn Europe, a black woman who sued her former employer, Equinox gym, saying she was unjustly fired for sexism and racism.

Equinox claims she was fired for being late 47 times over 10 months, a fact that Europe acknowledged as true.

According to the New York Times, Europe believed "her lateness was merely a pretext for discrimination."

A black person with the last name Europe? Lol, I don’t think I’ve ever even heard if a white person with that last name.

I wonder why the 47th time was different from the 46th.

This is why I laugh whenever I hear NYers talk about how tough they are. They are, bar none, the biggest collection of pussies on the planet. I guarantee you the white jury members were either scared to death of the black people on the panel or were frightened to be considered racist by their peers.

How could they have possibly come to that $11M figure?

So looking at some of the data on the case, they deposed a BUNCH of employees.

They also had exhibits of the manager schedules and swipe-card data.

Now, damages are purely subjective, but they may have had a good argument if they proved all/most other salaried employees were showing up late without reprimand.

If you work for a big company and supervise people, learn to document performance. I had to fire a guy that falsified documents and you’d be shocked at the amount of bullshite I had to go through. I had every conversation, coaching, disciplinary action documented in explicit detail. Pages and pages of entries, examples, etc. it’s amazing what you have to go thru to get rid of an a-hole
