Black studies vs women studies

Which is the worse and more useless major?
I had vaguely heard of these "studies" degrees from shows like South Park. But until the UNC academic scandal I honestly didn't realize these majors actually existed and weren't just a fictional South Park creation. I still am amazed these majors exist. I graduated from UF in 1997 and never met a single person who majored in these "studies", but I guess times have changed. Well I guess I might have met somebody who majored in women's or black studies but not realized it.

when I retire I will move to a college town and get another degree....something not accounting / finance related.
I am looking at Oxford MS and a degree in Southern Studies.....for real
I may try to be a volunteer assistant golf coach as well.

Never met a student in those programs, but knew someone who taught it:

both are evidence of the decline of western civilization.

I took a "women's and gender studies" one summer just for an easy elective. God was it boring. I don't remember much else from it. This was circa 2000.

Pretty sure UNC's Afro-American studies was completely fake.

Same here, I needed a history elective one summer and all USM had available was "Women in American History". I always got the feeling the instructor was holding back from going into all-out man-hating mode because I was the only dude in the class.

I was looking at the women's studies curriculum at Miami and FSU recently. Miami's in particular had really weird courses like women and genderqueerness, the history of lesbianism, and women in ancient Rome. I didn't even look at UF's women's studies program because I figured it would make me embarrassed to be a UF alum.
I didn't find the black studies curriculum to be as bad as the women's studies curriculum.
My vote is for women's studies being worse.

Sometimes I'm so disillusioned at what is real and what is an Onion article in 2017.
I had no idea these were actual majors. I just assumed that these were easy electives, but that's fascinating that there are individuals who pay thousands upon thousands (some on loans) to receive a 4 year curriculum on fricking women's gender studies. how did the parents not intervene? friends? other immediate family? no one explained to them it was an insanely idiotic idea?

Well plenty of SJWs think that these are excellent majors.

These majors prepare these students for a lifetime of outrage, organizing, and protesting. They'll still have to be trained to draw latte smiley face though.

Which they'll then frick up and turn around and blame on racist/sexist barista training programs

I wonder if they train them all to have that "fish mouth" expression?
