One actress/singer was in the cast of the musical "Rent" and sang backup for some notables. She invited me to Hawaii for Paula Abdul's wedding, and flew in over a Thanksgiving weekend to take me to the Bayou Classic football game between Southern U. and Grambling in the Superdome (though she attended neither school). Never felt so white in my life. Thought I might face some prejudice, but it was the other black women who gave her grief over being with a white guy.

Reminds me of an amusing anecdote. I was once married to a dark tan beauty who identified as black but also had some Spanish and French heritage. As luck would have it, the genetic lottery gave her gorgeous hair that she let grow long. One pleasant day she was driving my Porsche convertible with the top down and stopped at a traffic light. When she failed to accelerate immediately when the light turned green, a black man in the car behind her shouted, "Get off the road, rich white bitch!" Upon which she braked, turned around and replied, "Stupid N.., I'm as black as you are, mothaf*cker!"
