Serious question for those familiar with law. If someone had driven up while this was happening and walked up and shot one of the fricking animals several times would they be in trouble?

It is a 2007 Escalade. They also have two other older Caddies,
One article said he was a medium to short guy and they guessed his weight at about tree fiddy. The lady knew them both and said they had been customers for about 5-6 years. She said the woman had always been nice before.
