My best friend from HS cuts with a few black fellas, an asian and a couple white dudes. Just walk in and tell them you want a cut. Dont be surprised is a black dude comes in and offers to pay you to move up in line.

I was out of town and needed a cut. Walked into a barber shop and it was most definitely designed to cater to black male clientele. I was the only white dude there and everyone looked at me like I was lost.
Bunch of TV's and couches. Dudes just hanging out. They had a damn pool table and a refrigerator. Even some arcade video games. Definitely unlike anything I had ever seen in a barber shop before.
I didn't really realize what I was into until I was six feet inside the door and everyone was staring at me like the guy who walks into a saloon in a western movie. I figured frick it and sat down. They were 100% cool but it was a truly shitty hair cut. I figured out pretty quick that the guy had no experience cutting my style of hair.
Glad I stayed. Wouldn't go back.

There used to be a black hairdresser around the corner from my office. When I needed a good haircut (e.g. attending a funeral) I would get her to cut my hair. The only "white barbershop" in town does a decent job, but nothing great.

used to be a good one off Youree, east side of the street near Southfield Shopping center? when I was a kid there was a cool one in a hotel downtown, I think the hotel was imploded, I'd go in there as a teenager and the barber would order beers from the bar for me, good haircut too

I owned a store that was next to a black barber shop in a strip mall.
Being a good neighbor, I walked in and asked for a haircut.
Charged me twice what the white barbers were charging at the time.
Never again.
