How many years now have people been predicting that bitcoin is about to flop?

As I posted elsewhere

Currency innovates toward efficiency of exchange.

Currency began as barter. A chicken for your wheat or whatever. Then pretty rocks or metal for your wheat. Then gold backed paper notes. Then checks. Then plain fiat. Then credit cards. Then prepaid cards and debit cards.

That has been the evolutionary path of value exchange.

Currency innovates toward efficiency and crypto is the next efficiency gain.

Think about cash money. Just little pieces of paper. This one says $1. That one says $5 or $20. And they are all pieces of paper. And they are all just an illusion of value. It’s just paper with printing on it.

So currency is a shared illusion that we all agree on. It’s just pieces of paper. And that illusion is transitioning into the crypto currencies. And the reason it is, is because of efficiency of exchange.

Trustless exchange is the bonus especially with decentralized and mathematically limited issue cryptos.

Google RSA algorithm.

It's just busy work for a computer. Factoring large prime numbers for shits and giggles.

my electricity bills is 220-270 in the summer. are they saying that is takes 220-270 in electricity to mine a bitcoin?

seems like a good return to me, 220-270 to get 8,300.00.

am i missing something on this?

Yes. Transaction vs mine.

Also, I bet more people have lost money than have made money on bitcoin

My neighbor just set up 8 of these little puppies. Strangely enough, he trades oil with bitcoin.

Each transaction had a buyer and a seller. Sellers lost when the value increased, buyers lost when the value decreased.

It's more like $1500 per Bitcoin in power costs.

this explains better.

This all new to me. I did not know that Bitcoin was an actual, physical form of currency that required energy sources. I would feel dumb if I didn't care so little about it.

That is not entirely accurate, your government brought FB to us.

The creator is irrelevant. I meant Myspace predated it and its success led to innovation with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, even tinder and the like as well.

No one is using Myspace really now, and we may say the same about Bitcoin in 5-10 years. But I bet there's a "Facebook" of crypto then too. One that is sustainable.

Anyone, and I mean anyone who thinks blockchain technology isnt the future is a bumbling idiot/moron/retard, etc

Bitcoin will advance and stabilize as the foundation..other coins will be better suited for the everyday transactions...such as eth and others

I bet a year from now every exchange will carry cryptocurrency.

I cannot imagine having a lot of side ash and not buying ethereum and forgetting about it for 5 years. It will put perform gold 10x's.
