It will be a series of parks, market area, beer and wine garden, etc. It will be built under the newly completely reconstructed interstate bridges that run through downtown, adjacent to the entertainment district, new UAB football stadium and Top Golf. It is scheduled to be completed by next summer.

Louisiana would give an estimated completion date of Summer 2025 after the first dozen studies are done by JBE and Broome's buddies.

That area is becoming much nicer and safer in the last 5 years. I am impressed with the city leaders.

I had little faith in them but they are improving slowly.

Yep, I live in Baton Rouge so feel your pain.

It's amazing that Birmingham was able to tear down and rebuild interstate 20 / 59 all the way through downtown in one year.

Sounds like a nice area for bums.

The area underneath an overpass turned into an upscale park area? I feel like it’ll be overrun in 5-10 years

that run through downtown

Should’ve learned from Atlanta Braves and built it 20 miles north where downtown types don’t beg for money or try and rob you.

Nola should do the same thing. Cover up all the canals and make them walking/biking paths

They don't let people walk around Linn Park when the sun sets but they want folks to tour the underside of an interstate?

Pass.

Hope so for y’all. Terrific watching the kids run around worry free with other families.

With the way the area around railroad park blew up I have faith this will do well also. They realized they needed this in order to connect the Uptown complex, TopGolf, the civic center and the new stadium.

The first time I parked on the street and walked to Region’s Park to see the Barons play, my head was on a turret. But, to my surprise it was quite different than expected for me. I worked downtown B’ham for 22 years and have seen it deteriorate a good bit before finally making a turn for the better.

Under the interstate? Is that not going to be noisy as hell? Nothing like hitting the beer garden after work to read lips

I enjoy downtown projects so good for them if this turns out well

I remember the river park that was supposed to be built in downtown Baton Rouge. It was full speed ahead under Holden but apparently Broome has scrapped the plans.
