Mo Bart is your state's official lawyer.
That is pretty strong.

Hotel Brand Name / Next Exit
Food Restaurant Name / Next Exit
Those come to mind if I’m driving and don’t have my phone doing all the work.

If I am traveling through a place that I don't frequent and need to stop for food or gas, yes a billboard has worked.

As much as they become an eye sore, you have no clue how influential they are. Yes we use them and it works. We can track when they are up vs down involving sales.

Been saying this forever. I have seen and missed tons of billboards, ads on TV, whatever. Never have I said “i will try it”. Just like insurance companies (progressive and geico especially), that spend large $ on those commercials, how able cut out the millions in ads and lower insurance premium for your customers, which is what people do when they shop insurance (not who has the best commercial, but who is cheapest).
The vast majority of billboards and commercials are not trying to get you to make an impulse purchase. It's about branding and awareness. You are aware of Progressive and Geico because of their marketing, and you have probably shopped their rates. Doesn't matter if you decided to go with them or not. That means their ads worked on you. If you don't know a company exists the chances of you doing business with them is 0%, enter marketing.

That 138th South of the Border sign on I-95 really got me, the one about Pedro.

All I know is that one in BR sure didn’t “Free Devin White” in time for the Bama first half.
So no, they don’t work.

it's a free market...if people are paying loads of money to use them, they are working

The first time I saw this sign I was curious. By the 5th one I could not wait to see this place. I was not disappointed. It is definitely a sight to see. Didn’t stop though. Will one day.

Yeah for sure, especially if I am on a road trip. That is how I discovered The Shed BBQ!
