Lulz, against colonizing mars because the earth “isn’t taken care of.” Guess he sees no upside to the immense amount of advancement in tech and engineering that would be gained from an endeavor. Look at all of the great tech and advancements that came from landing on the moon. A lot of the issues facing a permanent colony on mars would be overcome with eventual tech that will also serve to better the earth as well.
Now terraforming is definitely reaching, and would be useless anyways due to no magnetic field, but the rest is definitely doable in the future. It’s not like the first colonists in America had an easy time and many died, so I think having to stay inside a pressurized environment on mars would be manageable
Dude’s a quack
As for Elon, he might come off as a odd person a lot but he’s still really intelligent. Do you really think he believes terraforming mars is possible? I’m pretty sure he even said something about bombarding the ice caps with nukes to release an immense amount of water/co2 to raise the air pressure. You really think he believes that would work?
He is doing the right thing by trying to spark public interest as much as he can. The rest of his mars goals are a bit exaggerated but definitely feasible

I’m sure in the 250,000 years that modern Homo sapiens have been on Earth, there have been many civilizations to look at the big grey hunk of rock that spots our night sky and think it’d be incomprehensible to ever travel there. That it would be - perhaps in different terms - science fiction.

But about 60 years ago, we did just that.
If going from the Earth to the Moon is like driving from New Orleans to Slidell, then going to Mars is like driving from New Orleans to Juneau Alaska, we have barely left the planet in terms of interplanetary distance.

Water can be created and multiplied on the molecular level and renewable sources can be made easily) Not sure why he mentioned this one.
This is where you lose credit.
If it was that easy don't you think it would already be a thing?

LOL, this guy is a hack
If it wasn't for Big Bang Theory, people would of forgot about him and his shitty show he had.

This is an interesting comparison, I would argue landing on Mars vs landing on the moon is more like driving to Beijing from New Orleans. Yes it can technically be done with the right vehicle, but its not a cheap or easy trip.
