Weddings and funerals top the list. Both are so tied to emotions that people will make really stupid decisions.

Oil changes are getting up there. I just had mine done in my Tacoma, with cabin and engine filters and full synthetic I paid $143. That’s with me negotiating $15 off the cabin filter and a coupon.

I told my wife that’s it, I’m going back to doing it myself.

Furniture and jewelry are two of the most criminally marked up items.

Had a buddy that was an account manager at a furniture store and he walked me around one day telling me what their cost was for various furniture items. It was shocking.

I have a friend that owns a furniture store and he told me years ago it’s the single most massively overpriced item. But.....people think they have to have them.

You do know you can shop around and get good ones for much less.

As you age they become more valuable as you use them more for medicines and medical equipment.

Cut up fruit. Just buy it and cut it yourself. Or just eat it as it comes.

Do you know what it costs?

Land is expensive but concrete structures are massively expensive. A structure in a high value area may be running on 3% to 6% margins after cost, construction, labor, maintenance, and taxes get taken out. Especially the it is a business area running on a 5 day week and not 7 day week.

Toll Roads

I have a bill I forgot to pay, $400 in tolls and $450 in late fees/service charges

And you can't renew your drivers license or get tags until paid in full

Not sure why you are getting so many down votes?

When the Disney CEO gets 600 million for 1 years worth of work that cost gets passed onto the consumers. Remember, they own ESPN and lots of the cable channels you watch which is why cable is so high and we do not have a la carte pricing after all these years. Disney is a monopoly that needs to be broken up.

Walt would be spinning in his grave if he saw what his brainchild has become.

Speaking of...is it possible to ask your ins company for a breakdown assessment of your own rate?

As they go up for so many, with no cause, it would be good to know what we are paying for.
