Any time you are a captive consumer:

Liquor on airplanes or cruise ships.

Food in airports (large hotels as well).

Popcorn and soft drinks in movie theaters.

US Government.

People getting rich by preaching that manmade climate change is settled science and we are all going to die in 12 years if we don't act.

Regardless of the side that you take in the debate it is hard to ignore the amount of wealth that Al Gore has amassed since his movie “Inconvenient Truth.”

I love hearing people say dumb shite like this.

There are so many morons that think you shouldn't be able to make money in the insurance industry because they literally forget the definition of "insurance"

Speaking of...is it possible to ask your ins company for a breakdown assessment of your own rate?
Nope.
quote:

As they go up for so many, with no cause, it would be good to know what we are paying for.
Your rate isn't just dependant on you. It's dependant on the state you live in and the area you live in. If you live in an area with a lot of uninsured drivers, your rates will be higher. Because naturally, there will be more accidents that include uninsured drivers that the insurance companies will have to pay for because the uninsured drivers sure as shite won't pay for it. And if there happens to be more accidents with uninsured drivers than the company anticipated, the rates go up usually. And no that's not punishing the good drivers, it is just the business raising rates to offset the cost.

And anyone that says it's unfair for insurance companies to raise rates because of things like that have no basic concept of what it takes to run a business with a profit. Car insurance companies barely break even if anything on property and casualty. They make all of their money with life and health insurance policies.
