Lot of hotties at Redemptorist when I was in school. We used to hang out with a lot of kids that went there.

Yea, had several friends that went to Central. Didn't start out that way...but after the initial fights, we became friends.

Y’all shoulda been around to see the RHS - Istrouma/Capitol/Lab basketball game fights in the 00’s. Back in the “GTA” days.

Many fights, Fabre didn’t know about.

I’ll always remember.

Capitol guy - “Punk arse catholic school boys, wanna hide behind mommas money.”

RHS guy (close friend of mine) - “Bitch I’m from Oaktown, don’t let the green fool you. What’s good wit it ?!?!?”

Me - “Oh shite”

What a time to be a wolf. Lol

I say the Kenilworth area. Aging housing stock and values are going to take a major hit now that they’re going to be outside the StG boundary. I’d be pretty depressed if I bought over there in the past 5 or so years.

I don't think so. The closer to St. George the better. Kenilworth and the surrounding area will be fine.

A city is not an automatic for getting a school district. I don't see how the school district can win the whole parish with only 54% support from ST. G.

Even those who voted against St. George will vote for teh school district because it's in their best interest now that St. George is incorporated.

Simply naming the opposition is going to get St. George about 50%. How many people are really willing to vote with SWB?

I'd say at least 45.9% will blindly vote for her.

All of Zachary and all of Central will also vote yes for the ISD.

You have to get them to the polls.

If this happens on an off-election like in an April, you won’t have major candidates already bussing people to the polls.

2. Nothing about St. George will stop EBR from being a predominantly liberal parish, so it's a moot point.

You are being intentionally dishonest. St. George would create an influx of residents into the parish instead of what's been happening over the last 2 decades.

I am not disagreeing with you but I just want to point out those that those who would have the biggest interest in keeping the status quo (the EBRSS) has most all the buses and many of the polling locations. I could definitely see them trying to pull some effort using local school buses to get the right people to the polls.

I fear those butthurt about the outcome of this election will intentionally vote no for the ISD just out of spite.

My point is that the turnout machine in the state is usually pushed by state and local candidates looking to get their voters to the polls.

Pushing turnout for tax elections occasionally happens but it isn’t nearly as successful as getting people to show up in October or November.

I agree that if it's not a large election (governor or president), turnout will be horrible, which probably favors the ISD push. I just wouldn't be surprised if a chunk of EBR parish votes "No" just to spite the StG residents.

That is if they show up. And the main ones I see showing up are ones with a direct financial interest in the EBRPSS staying put.

Other people may not want St George to get a district but I wouldn’t bank on them getting off their asses to vote.
