didn't she basically say something like Jewish isn't a race and that the holocaust wasn't about race?

Perhaps, but the Nazis saw them as a race.
If it was only a religion to them, then they could have outlawed the religion or just continued persecution, but instead they saw Jews as a race that poisoned the Aryan race and therefore should be exterminated, as in removed from the gene pool. Along with Slavs, Poles, Roma, and any other inferior race. That's a racial move, not merely a religious one.

She said it was white people doing it to white people so how could it be racial?
Kind of like how 95-98% of black homicides are from black people. So by her logic how can there be a race issue in this country when they are doing it to each other?

Hitler wanted to exterminate them based on race, not religion. He didn’t care if Jews renounced their religion or not, he thought them to be an inferior race.
I never really thought of Jews as a race really, but I don’t care. If they want to consider themselves that way, then fine.

Jews are composed mostly of two distinct ethnic groups, Ashekenazi and Sephardic both of which have distinct features and illnesses that are almost entirely unique to Jews. In others news Whoopi learned that Jews are the one group you can’t cross or piss off in Hollywood.
