It looks like Washington Parish is now in the winter weather advisory. Hopefully someone at their meeting of parish officials is looking at the OT lounge.

from your friendly Lake Charles NWS discussion
quote:
The mix of wintry precip will spread south through early Tuesday
afternoon, while areas north of I-10 will see a changeover to
mainly snow. Accumulations are not expected to be significant, but
snow amounts of one half to one inch will be possible across
interior southeast Texas into central Louisiana. Further south,
snow amounts are expected to be less than one half inch. Ice
accumulation is also expected to be minimal, not exceeding more
than a few hundredths of an inch. Primary impacts for ice will be
to bridges and elevated roadways. Drier air will work southward
late Tuesday, with precipitation expected to end from north to
south during the evening.

Actually most cities that are used to getting snow and ice every year handle it pretty well.

Phone hour by hour was saying the transition from rain to winter precipitation was going to happen about 1 am.
It just got bumped forward to 11 pm.
