So a guy that makes 70k a year with no college education gets to chip in a pay a loan for a student with a loan making 125k a year. DUMB and pandering

Nobody pays back their loans though, they just choose the lowest monthly payment with the longest term. I just read a stat that said half of borrowers still owe $20,000 20 years after entering school.
That is crazy.

Yep.
Which is probably why this ultimately won't happen.
Despite what the OT believes, leftists are not really for SL cancellation and if they are even a little bit, it's 100% to do with forcing congress's hand to bring new legislation reworking the entire college tuition system.
A one time debt cancellation and that's it has next to zero political backers. The left will take it and a handful of establishment dems might tout it as some sort of accomplishment, but the other 90% of the populace will not support this for one reason or another.

Ladies and gentleman, these are the people that this govt action is supposed to target. They have already rationalized that they deserve this handout and will lash out at others that work manual labor jobs to bolster that rationalization.
Most people that get this handout are completely unaware that it is unfair as it benefits those that make poor decisions. Paying them galvanizes this fallacy, and their voting habits, at the expense of American taxpayer

Let's also not forget who runs our colleges and universities where the students are racking up this debt while getting useless degrees.
All of this cycle of garbage is run by Progressives. Every bit of it. The very people they hate are the ones they rely on to pay for their terrible decisions.
