The Biden administration said Tuesday it plans to develop a rule requiring tobacco companies to reduce nicotine levels in cigarettes sold in the United States to minimally or nonaddictive levels, an effort that, if successful, could have an unprecedented effect in slashing smoking-related deaths and threaten a politically powerful industry.

The administration notice said the Food and Drug Administration intends by May 2023 to develop a proposed standard “that would establish a maximum nicotine level in cigarettes and certain finished tobacco products.”

All just a ploy to make people buy/smoke more cigarettes.

Nice.

As long as marijuana is still federally illegal, I don't have a problem with this. Go ahead and make alcohol illegal as well because if marijuana is illegal then its only logical that alcohol should be illegal as well.

add another piece of legislation under this administration, that the American people do not want or care about. Nor does it do anything to help them with inflation, gas prices, and crime.

I guess the Tobacco lobby has not been donating enough to the DNC these days.

Those guys need to give the government the appropriate amount of “look the other way” money.

So just increase the amount of cigarettes you have to smoke to get your fix?

Nice. This should fix everything.

Tobacco industry probably has nothing to do with this at all.
