Thoughts? People are very nice but almost too nice. Is it like a cult? Anyone have good/bad experiences there?

Crazy mf'rs that like to speak in gibberish loudly, pretend it's their holy language, then jump around like buffoons while they cast evil out of your body, before finally throwing a blanket over you while you lay on the church floor and hold a candle.

All the while convincing a large group of people to send them 10% of their income.

I never really sensed a cult feel there.

The speaking in tongues and dancing around is a little odd though.

Nice shouldn't be a deciding characteristic, but I know what you mean. With that said, I know a few people who went there. A family who grew up down the road from me sent their kids there. It might have changed since then, but I know it was a really small school.

There also use to be a branch of Bethany church in my area. It was a relatively small church (put always seemed to be packed on Sundays). Evidently there was some problems within and the church split and an independent Non-Denom church was created, with a good bit of it's members going to the new church.

Is it your only option?

I heard they accept donations and funnel money to LSU Athletes.

Cult!
Healing Place Church takes it a step further.

It’s like a cult without all the sex and rifles.

Like i mentioned, been going for years. Churches are made up of imperfect people with everyday problems like the rest of us. If you gauge a church off of every single experience with every single person, you will probably be let down. Every church has weird folks. People feel safe in church. They tend to act a bit more free than they should. I find that the worship is legit and the lesson taught is Biblical and lines up with scripture. There are plenty of people who have issues with every church and the Bible itself so they are going to knock any church mentioned for simply being a church.

Oh, well, that makes it completely normal.
