Anybody got any ideas on if this will affect LSU this week? I’ve got an exam on Thursday I really don’t feel like taking

Can we talk about this graphic? It's always overdone. Nothing on land is reporting TS force gusts, much less sustained as this graphic indicates.
Even down at Galveston, on the water, sustained winds haven't gotten out of the 20s. Highest gust I see is 38.
KGLS

I think that covers it.
Pretty sure it's estimated from flight level wind extent but yeah rarely translates over land on the fringes.

I'm gonna need you to make some calls to NHC and get that fixed. Just tell them you're a pretty big deal on a sports message board. They'll understand.

What’s official name? I don’t see it
I honestly don't know, other than "Tropical Tidbits". It popped up when I went to the website on my phone. I clicked install and it ran virus check and all. I'm assuming it is legit and is just more or less a direct link to the site for mobile.
I think it is more of an extension. It is weird because I can't find anything on it now.

ETA: The key this afternoon will be to see if the dry air to the east of the circulation rotates in and chokes off convection or if the ongoing convective burst can wrap around and close off a core.
It is pretty clear that the dry air won out and cloud tops are warming as deep convection near the center has been choked off. However, we could see another burst of storms later as a pulsing convective pattern is common in systems dealing with dry air.

Any word on the low pressure sitting over Florida?
I read there’s little chance of development, but could it feed moisture to Beta?

Any chance this thing speeds up? I'm headed to western Carolina Friday. Thanks.

I figured it out. It is a "Web App" via Samsung Internet. I guess it is more like an addon, but it does have an app icon on my phone's homescreen like any other app, and it operates without using the web browser.
This is the first of its kind I have noticed on my phone, and most other sites don't seem to have it.
I don't know if anyone else cares, but it was bugging me and I've spent the past half hour trying to figure out where it came from and how the hell I got it. Mystery solved.

Nah. Not really how that would work.

Not really expecting it to speed or slow much, but driving that way shouldn't be a big deal with this. Just a little rain on the trip. It should be a weak low by that point.

Bruh, all questions are welcomed.
How detailed the answer is from me is just a reflection of how lazy I'm feeling.

Looks like the NWS has backed down rain totals? Guess they aren’t buying what the euro was showing earlier??
