Two different purposes.

For in between cleanings, option A but only if your flooring is mostly tile or hardwood.

For deeper cleanings, option B as this can take on all types of flooring, but is corded and heavier.

Option A is a piece of shite. When I say doesn’t suck, I’m referring to the capabilities of the vacuum not a rating.

I prefer Oreck. It has a better warranty, and the dirt and debris is contained within a filtered bag. Plus, we have a local service center if repair work is needed vs. having to ship off Dyson.

From my experience, the handheld cordless ones are very convenient but the batteries can crap out. Sometimes the batteries have their own warranties that is shorter than the vacuum itself. That was a red flag last time I was shopping. I went with a big corded one and got a Roomba for in between cleanings.

FWIW I’ve had option A for a few years now and it works great. Can’t do the entire house in one go, but if that’s your plan then you can get one of the newest models which have interchangeable batteries.

The base models work fine on carpet and okay on wood/tile, but if you have a lot of non-carpet areas in your house then make sure to get one of their fluffy-roller heads.

Vacuum wars (YouTube) has way more than you’d ever want to know about any of the latest models of various types.

Best value around. 200-300 is about what you pay and never have to worry about repairs.

Design means you will never lose suction.
