In the market for a new vacuum. Have had a Dyson as well as a Kenmore Cannister. Would be used primilarly for hardwood floors and a few rugs. If anyone has one of those Dyson cordless ones, I would like to know what you think about it.

ETA: I already have a Neato

I have all wood and tile in my house, bought a eufy robovac 11 on Amazon. Fairly cheap, it's quiet and it really does a great job of keeping the floors noticably cleaner all the time. Has great reviews too.

I have a Miele canister. Works on carpet, tile, hardwood, everything. Best vacuum cleaner I've ever owned.

We have a Dyson cordless and it's great for small messes and tidying. Have a dirt devil that I'll use to clean all the floors.

The dyson on regular power has enough battery to do the floors, but on full power won't have enough.

I should have added that I already have a Neato. That's for daily maintenance but I need something for deep cleaning.

Not my only vacuum but I find myself using this more than I would have expected. Makita dust buster basically but takes same battery as the 18v power tools.

But I'd probably get a Miele.

Never mind the Eufy then. That's just to maintain in between deeper cleaning. When I'm really looking to get every spec of dirt off the floors I just us a basic shop vac. It's a lot cheaper and had way more suction power than any fancy vac you can buy.

I use a shopvac canister. Noisy, but for deep cleaning it picks up everything.

I've had one like this for years. It does well on tile floors, not so good on rugs. Further the battery will only last for 15 minutes or so, so it is really on good for daily vacuuming and little stuff. But it does well at that.

I second the dyson.

Whenever I empty out the canister, I can never believe the amount of shite that thing picks up.

Funny you should recommend the dyson ball. I used it and while I think it's a good vacuum, if it's a crum pile (like under a highchair) I find it spits some of the crums/dust backwards.

The Kenmore Cannister lasted a year before imploding. It did a good job but was such a PITA to drag the Cannister around.

I would love something cordless but I don't think any of the battery lives will last the whole house.

All canister vacs break after a few years usually. For deep clean get a hoover floormate wet/steam vac. Its cheap about $130 and you'll be shocked how much dirt it picks up after your regular vac.

Thanks for the advice. I'll add these to my amazon review research list!

PS: for anyone that cares, we are on our second Neato. First one broke after a year, so they replaced it while still under warranty. The second one started spazzing out when we had brick floors, so we put it away until moving to new house. Serviced it and still wasn't working right. Neato told us there was nothing they could do since it had been over two year warranty. Had to ship it off to some authorized repair company. On week three of waiting to get it back. Pretty disappointed in lack of service from Neato. It had good moments but some days it just seemed possessed.

We had a roomba, it didnt work worth a shite, sent it back.
Now we have a 11 year old Kenmore Canister that's been rode hard and put up wet and still keeps ticking. I'd like to get a cordless myself as I dont have a lick of carpet in my house. It's only 1650 sq ft and with the canister I can knock out the whole house in 10-12 minutes. For deep cleaning..... 4 parts water to 1 part vinegar and about 1/2 cup of purple fabulousa is my mop bucket concoction.
