I wouldn’t consider myself an expert but I do consider myself knowledgeable on firearms. The shite some people say about guns is laughable, especially in the media

People who are full of shite about a topic but go on and on about it are the worst.

My company did business with this European guy who claimed to have played for London in the WLAF. Every time before a meeting he’d try to impress the group with his football stories.

One day (and this is always a good way to see if people are BSing about playing) after hearing enough about the London Monarchs I said, I know a few guys who played in that league. I forgot- who was the coach of the Monarchs? He went silent and we never heard about the WLAF again.

Just because you flew the airplane there, doesn't mean you actually know more about flying than a guy who has had X-Plane 11 Global Flight Simulator for 20 years.

I mean...get real..the guy has played in tournaments and everything.

You fly military planes? Just asking, seems pretty neat. I'd be terrified being in one of those. I don't even like getting in a boat going too fast.

No, but I play flight sims all the time, so I know more than most military pilots.

My mom thinks that since she has a degree in counseling, she knows more about the brain than me, including disease processes like seizures and strokes. I have been working in the neuro intensive care units for over a decade. I am an expert even to the point that I teach neuro anatomy, neuro assessment, and these specific disease processes in the classroom setting on a regular basis.

Gun shows are worth the price of admission just for the comedy factor in eavesdropping on people's conversations.

I'm a lead machinist/machine programmer at a fairly large machine shop, and have machined every nearly every exotic alloy known to man. I've lost count of how many lectures I've gotten from engineers straight out of school about the properties of whatever metal he decided to use on today's kindergarten project. Never have this problem with the older engineers. Also being "corrected" by common folk that stainless steel is indeed stronger and harder than carbon steel, and I really should know that given that I am a machinist.

Lawyers have been heard to describe an "expert witness" with little practical experience in his field of expertise as a guy who knows 101 sex positions, but doesn't know any women.

My wife and I went to visit my aunt and uncle who live in California. He is originally from Louisiana but has lived in Cali since he got out of the service in the 60’s. At the time they lived in the foothills about 2 hours outside of Sacramento and there was a new Cajun restaurant he wanted to eat at after they picked us up from the airport.

When we were ordering, I ordered the chicken and andouille gumbo. The waitress decided this was a good time to educate me on the pronunciation of andouille to AND-dew-e in a very vocal and loud way. I paused and looked at everyone else at the table and said “sorry, I didn’t know. Yes, please let me have the AND-dew-e” and the entire table erupted in laughter.

We never let her in on the joke.

I had a lady working the desk at the Hilton in Denver tell me how to pronounce my Cajun last name, and it was wrong, but she insisted she knew because her cousin or something lived in Lake Charles and she was familiar with that name. Ive been to Lake Charles a half million times and have never heard my last name pronounced incorrectly.

Don't they know you just have to counterbalance the hormones and antibiotics with essential oils and CBD?
