Florida is the worst. Nice little state house with a brutalist monstrosity behind it.

JFC. I can't imagine how long that would take. I know they had more than one person doing it probably, but just think if you were the only one up there and had to apply 3&3/8" gold leaf squares to the whole thing. One of the worst jobs in the world. Holy shite.
That is a pretty cool looking capitol though. With most of the capitols having domes, this one is head and shoulders above. The dome is just beautiful.

Apparently this guy is not a fan of the Louisiana State Capital building. Nebraska blogger who's obvious bias is bleeding through this blog post:
Wow, dude is a hater

Yeah first one that came to mind for me was Hartford.

I've been there several times and have never seen it like this

Kentucky's isn't bad. Just the people who inhabit it are where the waste is.

Can't believe the down votes, New Mexico looks like a GD Mega Church better suited for Range Ave in Denham, rather than the seat of government of a state.

Someone needs to pressure wash the new Capitol
And City Hall, but then maybe that’s the architectural look they were going for, as it seems to fit the look of the rest of the city. Neo-Filthy Expressionism

I agree. All govt building should be plain jane govt buildings with minimal amenities.
While taxpayers weren't looking, Kentucky built this for it's transportation cabinet.

North Dakota, another candidate for worst.

I will give you that, but i'm guessing they wanted to highlight stucco cause it matches the historical architecture of the area, why didn't they fully commit to the historical architecture. there are several types to chose from Pueblo Style, Mission Style, or Spanish colonial

Govt spending on buildings is a hot button for me obviously.
I'll mention one more I'm mad about still. Lexington, like many cities, had a mall go under 15 years ago. The city had been complaining for years that it needed a new city govt building because the one downtown was crumbling.
Many people tried to get them to buy the mall. It had all the space for all of city govt including police and other govt agencies to have offices, the parking was already in place, and it was only 2 miles from downtown. Great location, and only some interior renovations needed.
But, the city council didn't like the idea, they preferred a "new" building, so they didn't buy it for a dime and renovate it.
A church bought it, tore most of it down, built an additional building, and we ended up spending millions of dollars to renovate the old building.
Yeah, still mad. Govt waste really triggers me.
