I like the Icehouse. Order food from Mr. Taco and all they have plenty of TV's. Also the place is never that crowded.

Chimes is a good option if you sit in the bar area, not in the main dining room.

I was about to recommend the Ice House myself. That's where I would go. 2 for 1 domestic draft everyday till 7. And 1 other beer of the month is 2 for 1. It changes, though. Haven't been in June yet.

To be a sports bar people there need to be into sports. I've never watched a game at Chimes where anyone there gave a shite about what was on the tv. i like the place, but not my choice to watch big games.

I watched the second half of the NBA game last night at the Chimes bar, actually. Literally everyone sitting at the bar was watching, discussing, and cheering the game.

However the sound was not on, and this is admittedly a rare occasion.

They don't turn on the sound.
If you play music and don't turn on the sound for the featured game, imho you are not a sports bar.

Yes, but it wasn't for a game.

My food was good, TVs were good, and they have a room in the back with an arcade for kids.

Big LSU fans are the owners.

It's hard to beat Burbank walkons if you're looking for a college crowd. I could spend all day drinking on the outside patio playing golden tee. The towne center one dosent have the same atmosphere

Chimes is cool. Idk about the one by lsu only been to that one a handful of times but chimes east is always packed as frick and the bar isn't real big

Pluckers bluebonnet used to be my spot but it's attracted a bad crowd over the last year, ya know the one that hangs out in the parking lot and is obnoxious as frick during NBA games, and they don't have any good looking bartenders/waitresses anymore. Most tvs in town though

Twin peaks may have the coldest and best beer in town and has nice eye candy but lots of creepy old men/bikers

Steer clear of hooters and bww

If you want a packed place with a loud crowd and average at best food then probably Twin Peaks or Walkons.

If you want a more laid back atmosphere with better food then a place like Bar Louie or Chimes East would be your choice.

BJ's Brewhouse is OK, food is good but I'm not a fan of the angle the tables sit to the giant TV behind the bar.

The Chimes by a wide margin.

The Londoner is great for sports and drinking, but the food is lacking.

BWW has a terrible beer selection and the worst food imaginable for a chain that size.

Hooters is ok. Their wings are just alright (though I do like the Daytona style), plenty of TV's, beer selection is meh. The College location seems worse than the others.

Twin Peaks is better than Hooters.

Barcadia was awesome before they changed managers, but now is garbage. They started charging covers and blasting DJ hip/hop music. Now, all the burgers taste burnt and flavorless. Even their wings suck now. It used to be my favorite place in town. What a disappointment.

Walk-On's is actually decent despite the criticism. The po'boys aren't the best, but they're solid. Beer list isn't the best, but isn't bad by any stretch. Plenty of TVs, service is good. I understand it's not the best restaurant out there, but the hate is way overstated.

Pluckers is another really good option if you like wings. The Nicholson location is generally cramped and crowded, but the one by the Mall is a legit sports bar option with outstanding food.

Mellow Mushroom is another suprisingly good choice. Awesome food, ok beer selection, and plenty of TVs.

Short version:
Chimes>Walk-On's>Pluckers>Mellow>Barcadia>Londoner>Twin Peaks>Hooters>BWW

Actually, the Juban Crossing Walk Ons probably has the best TV set up in the area right now.

Hooters has the worst wings out of the big 3 (pluck, bww, hooters) and is just in a general decline. Last time I went the whole bar smelled like a dirty wash rag and they couldn't even get the lsu baseball game. In this day and age every sports bar needs to know how to stream games

As for bww I actually think their wings are better than pluckers and I like their beer glasses but their service is so godamn horrible. Talking about bluebonnet here, Idk about the lsu one I haven't been there in about a year. If you don't sit at the bar your beers will take forever to get to you
