Really? They have the lowest costs for a lot of stuff in the BR area. Especially compared to Winn-Dixie and Rouses. Plus they have by far the best produce section of the major grocery chains (at least in south BR).

Trader Joe’s and Aldi are the correct answers to this post.
Aren't "regional" chains.

HEB
Whole Foods
Rouses is honestly hit or miss. Some of them REALLY suck.

and they both suck, unless you're a starving artist or college student

They are serviced by Supervalu, which isn't an expensive shop. You sure that groceries aren't just stupid expensive lately because of inflation?

IGA is the only correct answer.

HT has a terrific meat department.... Wegmans is solidly superior in nearly every other category in NOVA...

Rouses in BR blllllowwwsss. Horrible meats and fresh produce
They bought the old LeBlanc's stores and really screwed them up.
The one they built on Airline near Highland in Baton Rouge is okay though, along with the one in Gonzales that used to be the big LeBlanc's. But overall Rouses is a big fat disappointment in the Baton Rouge market.
The one in Zachary sucks.
The one on Bluebonnet sucks.
The one on Drusilla REALLY sucks.
I haven't been to the one by LSU yet. But I imagine it's more geared towards prepared foods than being a traditional grocery store.

There's Lowe's grocery (no relation to the big box hardware chain of the same name)that is pleasant.
Located in NC, possibly other states.

Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh is terrible by default.
But their Giant Eagle Marketplace branded stores are legit. I've only seen 4-5 of them at most. The one near the airport outside Pittsburgh is massive and difficult to get to, but it's one of the best grocery stores I've been to. So is the little one in the north hills.

Wegmans. No other grocery I've shopped at comes close.

I really like Publix but that may be because I don’t have it where I live. Rouses I’m not crazy about but like some people said I think is varies by location. I think there’s one in Thibodaux I’ve been to that’s good, but the ones in BR aren’t that great. They are overpriced and rarely have the items I actually need, despite the appearance of a well stocked store. Also the cashiers are very dismissive imo. Albertsons on college drive in Baton Rouge is my primary grocery store. Prices are generally good, stocked shelves and friendly staff in my experience.

Yep, living in NOVA, I have an HT 5 minutes away and a Wegmans 15 mins away and will always choose to go to Wegmans if I'm not in a hurry.

I do love Central Market, although their prices are higher than Whole Foods.

Wegman's also has a meat department that is vastly superior to the one at Harris Teeter. Not even close. It's also a great place to go to for lunch.

They do seem to run that one very well. And it's survived being right next door to a WalMart supercenter too.

The Rouses on 22 in Mandeville
This is my store and it's a fantastic store. What's funny is the "fancier" one of east Causeway is not nearly as good.
I also agree the one on 190 is awful.
