Las Vegas mega resorts (and 5 Star hotels in general) have the best public restrooms I’ve ever experienced

Lobbies of hotels and patient floors of hospitals. Hotels and hospitals.

The vast majority of people going into or out of a hotel are going to and from their rooms with private bathrooms, so the lobbies are not heavily used and you'll likely have a clean bathroom with peace and quiet for you to contemplate life's mysteries while you pinch one off. Ditto for patient floors of hospitals. Lobby floors near waiting rooms, not so much.

any location with a family restroom. My local HD is the only place I know of. There are a couple of places with other individual only bathrooms but they aren't very clean.

Some Barne's and Noble bookstores have walls that go ceiling to floor for stall dividers and regular doors w/locks for stall doors. Very clean and private.

100% true statement. I have stayed at hotels ranging from Motel 6 to Waldorf Astoria and have yet to find a hotel bed as comfortable as those found in Hampton Inn's.

I once had an emergency and had to stop at the Tiger Truck Stop. Would not recommend.

Ahhh, the single lockable room. I would only count on this for an opportunity shite. If it's an emergency, and you whip in and the door is locked, sheer terror.

Any major hotel with big meeting halls is good on off days. The lobbies usually have good ones, and if you are dressed well, no one will give you a second look. You can also walk back into a convention area that isn't active that day for a nice peaceful interlude.

Most airline lounges are, well, crappy. But in major airports you can grab one with a shower, and that is almost as good as home porcelain.

AMEX Centurion Lounges lack great crappers, in my experience.

In rural areas, you have to play it by ear. Some Ma and Pa gas stations have excellent facilities. But you can get some that smell like piss, diesel fumes, and sweat. Truck stops are usually bad. Cracker Barrels are usually decent if you have one on your route.

I second that emotion. Never count on a Starbucks bathroom.

Hotels in general. Not small motels, but big hotels with giant lobbies. Nobody uses those bathrooms because they all have their own in their room, and nobody thinks to stop in a hotel to use the bathroom.

Even partying in New Orleans, leave the shithole bar for a few minutes and walk down to Roosevelt, Moteleone, etc. and get a pristine bathroom with embroidered towels.

Jesus Christ, there is a whole web site devoted to the subject. Baws, I give you . . . Crappers Quarterly.
