I managed to let a crack get out of control and it's gone completely side-to-side. Are replacements generally as good as OEM, or is there something I should be looking out for? This is for a late model Chevy Silverado 1500. The area where the mirror mounts to should be blacked out but other than that I'm concerned about price and convenience. It would be awesome if they could come to my work.

Who are the go-to people in the BR area for windshield replacements?

The only differences that I have seen in aftermarket windshields has been the tint/blackout strip along the top of the glass. Other than that, I have seen no difference at all.

If you're looking for the cheapest, bring it to Auto Glass Now on Airline. I would would get a quote from them and shop around. Call them back and ask them if they can beat the lowest quote.

Safelite.

They came and did it in the parking lot while I was at work. Awesome.
And with your insurance it’ll be next to nothing.

Doesn't the deductable apply? Does making a claim for a new windshield count as a strike or whatever that may impact the rates?

You'll have to pay your comprehensive deductible buti it won't go against you like an accident or ticket.
