Might check out Autoworks in Baker. They do good work.

she loves the car and for being a 2008 it looked and ran like brand new. It's a Volkswagen Touareg.

Ugh.

This is coming from a parent who had a mid-2000's VW for their child, also:

totaling that VW out is a blessing in disguise. Once they begin to break down, you'll learn the terrifying truth: they are European Imports, and will cost as much as an Audi or BMW to keep running.

Total it out, get her a Toyota Rav4 or Honda CRV. Much easier and cheaper to repair things. No need for specialty shops to work on transmissions, etc.

call Resurrection Customs in Laplace. I got in a wreck and they fixed my truck for $4,500 less than the shop the insurance guy wanted to use. He's done 3 vehicles for me and my 2 kids.

I have had good experience with Adams, met the owner a few weeks ago and seems like a pretty solid guy which makes sense after my previous experiences with the place

They have two locations, is one better then the other? Is the owner at one more often?

I've used Medine's in the past. I was satisfied with them.

10 year old vehicle in a "bad wreck" is highly likely a total loss. Not worth paying the difference to have it fixed and end up with a salvage title.

This just happened to my daughter as well. Got hit from behind at a red light, other person was going 45.

Just took it to collision center and guy told me their insurance company is going total it out. Did the insurance company try to low ball you?

I'm just trying to prepare myself.
