Oak Hills. Great location and lots of young families with kids playing in the neighborhood.
The Greater Oak Hills Civic Association is great too. None of the BS of an HOA, all the benefits. Great Halloween parade.

if you’re doing parochial school - whichever ones have bus service to the school you’re sending the kids too.

That’s a broad question. Southdowns, kenilworth, Jefferson terrace, woodstone, bocage, all good in different ways

Woodstone in 70808.
Great homes, lots of families and kids attending all the different schools. Houses are being renovated nicely and the values should hold.
I moved from there to another state, but would've stayed in there for the long haul if we stayed in BR.
I should note that my kids went to LSU Lab, so the drop off and pick up routines weren't too bad going down Highland or Burbank depending on traffic.

used to live in Westminster/Pine Park. Miss that neighborhood. Great location and it's in St. George.
The houses are not cheap now. I never imagined they would go for what they are now.

We moved to Jefferson Terrace (JT6) just over 3 years ago. Besides dealing with the homeless population (they have been relatively harmless) it’s been a nice quiet neighborhood with great neighbors.

Mid city is Baton Rouge’s Dollar General version of NOLA’s garden district. Fairly nice area surrounded crime when you reach the outskirts.

Jefferson Terrace/Inniswold/Westminster are great with close access to everything. Lot of old folks, quiet and no big HOA mafia

I’m a fan of Tara. If you have over a million to spend on a house, obviously there are some better options.

Hickory Ridge is where all those loaded Parkview kids went when I was at Broadmore
