Don't lie down with dogs.

Give your pet (assuming a dog) a flea bath, then comfortis or frontline treatment. Wash all of your sheets, then go get some flea spray from a hardware store to mix in a pump sprayer & spray your floors.

Jizzing on yourself and rubbing it all over you.
Seriously. It provides a protective coat to your hairs, and when it dries, destroys flea eggs.

Talstar for the yard. Every six months.
For inside. Spray the house with a liquid spray. Get the dogs on flea program, shots work best.

I've been doing this for years and it's always worked.
- Wash your bedding. You don't need anything special because the water drowns the fleas and the dryer heat kills the eggs.
- Don't use a monthly flea treatment. The fleas build up a resistance over time. Use Frontline or Advantage (whichever one you haven't used recently) on the dog. Don't use another flea treatment unless they show up again, at which point you switch to the other brand. Alternate brands each time you see fleas. I almost never need to use them, but by alternative Advantage and Frontline and using them only when needed, I've been able to mostly avoid the problem and get rid of it quickly when it shows up.
Never use Advantix if you have a cat.

Use flea and tick shampoo on pets.
But flea and tick medicine for pets.
Bomb the shite out of your house.

Crushed wax myrtle leaves.

Let an exterminator handle it. Seriously. Flea bombs from the hardware store don't work. After the exterminator does his thing, vacuum daily for a couple of weeks and wash all bedding. Exterminator is worth it if you have a flea infestation.

Keep dogs on flea medicine.
Keep their bedding clean.
Treat the yard regularly.
Vacuum like a madman.

Burn down your house and yard.

We had a big flea outbreak in the yard/ house/pets and we used diatomaceous earth in the house and outside. I was skeptical it would work but it was cheap and safe to use. The flea problem went away.
