No one is cross shopping a new 550 and a new Hellcat. They aren't in the same class size-wise and they are on different planets price-wise. S550 starts at $94,000, the Hellcat starts at $62,000...of course there is going to be a difference in interior quality.

But getting 707 hp and 650 lb-ft tq for that amount of money is what's impressive about it. If you want 707 hp with a factory warranty, you're going to have to shell out $100,000+ more to get into a Lambo or something similar. If you value luxury more than performance that's one thing, but there is no denying that he Hellcat is a performance bargain, and the interiors honestly aren't bad - they offer premium materials now and Alcantara trimmings.
It's also a poor argument to call a Hellcat gaudy or douchey and then recommend an AMG car (not saying you did, just speaking in general). AMG's are not known to be subtle cars at all.

They botched the shite out of the RCf. Combined 3 different old chassis together to come up with that body and its pig heavy. That combined with a torqueless V8 is not a good combination. The sedan might be a little better but it's not going to compare well to the M or AMG or RS of the world. It'll compare to the 550is or similar from Audi and Merc.

Yep. Newest AMGs hardly look any different than their lower AMG sport siblings. Have to wait for the Black series to get screaming exteriors.

I was just using it as a reference on quality. You can put the Chrysler against any Merc/BMW and tell a huge difference in build quality. Do you pay for it? No doubt.
If the goal is to cram tons of torque and hp under the hood, the Hellcat is the best option.
If you want a great car that is better 99% of the time, there are a lot better options.

That gap has closed A LOT. Have you been in a new Grand Cherokee or the newest durango or the newest charger? Remember a lot of the tech and interior in the new Dodge products are left over from the Benz owning them for a while. Of course there is a difference but at least a 30% price premium. We drove a new GL550 last year that i didn't think was all that great at $90k.

Well that's a shame. the RC F is a sexy looking car and it's hard to beat the ride of a Lexus. Guess it's back to the Audi options.

Realistically I know that I'll at best probably see just one of those three cars at my Montana dealership, ever. RWD cars with 415, 455 and 640 hp that aren't corvettes or camaros don't sell well in a place where a long summer lasts about 4.5 months.

Historically, one of the best "high performance car that was not flashy" was the 1955 Chrysler 300 - big hemi with two four-barrel carbs that would run like a bat our of hell but looked like an ordinary sedan.
