I'm stunned we haven't had this advice yet: "have him get a consult with every lawyer in town so they will all be conflicted out."

Julie Distefano out of Plaquemine kicks serious arse.
She covers BR and Ascension too.

As a long time lurker in these types of threads, I see more "KAREN Downs" and Julie Distefano replies than any other names.

Just a FWIW

Karen Downs is the absolute best in BR. Male or female. She's a very sweet lady, but she'll rip your nuts off.

If you have the money to afford that, you can afford a team of attorneys and that's unnecessary

Cuz a female can be aggressive with the soon to be ex wife without coming off like a bully. That's the theory anyway. I don't know how well it works.

It doesn't.

Personally, I always think it's odd when people want the divorce lawyer who is "nasty" and "a bulldog".

They want someone to go in there, wreck shop, light the fuse, and make the ex hurt.

But, when you get divorced, especially if you have children, you're still going to have to deal with your ex the rest of your life (or until the kids are independent). The lawyer will be long gone, but you will still have to be there to pick up the pieces.

Just food for thought.

i try to tell people this but it's an emotional situation and they won't listen. i've all but given up telling people this. i don't get into much contested stuff b/c i just can't deal with people when they get into that mental state.
