Yeah my buddy used Donna Lee his wife was cheating he got the house did not have to giver her half his exxon retirement and no child support or alimony..it was epic

that is a control room story.

adultery has one effect...it precludes the cheater from receiving alimony.

it has absolutely no effect on community property partition or child support.

99% of the divorce people I know including myself paid child support based on the state's income/support tables, and in a community property state there is 50/50 division of assets, so I can not see what would be gained by spending a ton of money on a court battle, maybe I am wrong and someone can explain it to me.

As a long time lurker in these types of threads, I see more "KAREN Downs" and Julie Distefano replies than any other names. Just a FWIW

Same here. Karen Downs sounds like a hawk.

in all my years you are only the 2nd person to ever claim they get along well with their ex. Congrats.

i know tons. i actually have a speech for it

the problem is new divorce litigants have their behavioral patterns destroyed, which creates an instability that adds SUPER emotions to the situation

once they start a new pattern this will pass, but if you go into the case looking to frick shite up, kick arse, and take names, you're just going to continuously try to change any new patterns and leave a path of emotions in teh wake....and THOSE people hate their exes after its done quite often

What is wrong with her? She has represented some friends and a current employee. They say good things.

I think it makes it a lot easier not to hate the ex if you aren't watching your paycheck dissolve so she can get her hair and nails done and frick some other dude with your money.

I came out smelling like a rose. Got the house, the nicer car, no alimony, no child support and 50/50 custody. So after the emotions died down it was a lot easier to be co-parents and give the kids a positive environments to grow up in and be well adjusted.
She's a good mom. She just wasn't a good wife. When you hate your ex the kids pick up on it. And any ill will I might feel towards her isn't worth the damage it would do to my kids.

It took a while to get there, but I'm so happy that I finally did, and that she allowed me to get there by not leading me on. It was a kinder cruelty to leave me and give me no chance than it would have been to string me along all while not loving me.

It allowed me to grow and become a better person.

The saying about being honest with your attorney and your Dr is not true fwiw

Also I strongly agree with everyone saying to work it out with your ex vs trying to "win". Me and my ex get along great now and it's much better this way.

Yes indeed, I tell all my clients not to be honest. Makes the case more fun.

My attorney withdrew from my case because of something I told her incase it came up.
