My best experiences were any given Amos Moses gig in the 90s
Didn't they open for a big-name act at the Centroplex?

Manny Bazoo was a great band there about 15 to 20 years ago. They were a fun group to watch and had great crowd interaction. They had a really good girl singer in the tradition of Janis Joplin, Alannis Morrisette, Pat Benatar, and theCranberries Delores O'riordan.
Also liked the Shack Daddies, a really talented group with a variety of covers and a great show band.

Not sure, but Spank was supposed to have opened for Creed when they came here in like 2000 or 2001. I don't know if that ended up happening if not.

Best Experience at the Caterie?
Was there the night of 2007 SEC Championship. That nights a little hazy, but I think Oh Juliet and Meriwhether were playing. We went apeshit during the end of the Pitt/WVU game when we realized LSU would likely get the BCSNCG bid.
Thank you Dave Wannstedt, wherever you are..

My all time favorite bar. I have much history with that place. Early to mid 70’s my father was in the insurance business and his office was over the Caterie before it expanded upstairs. Would eat lunch there as a kid.
College in the late 80’s my friends and I would meet there every Friday and Saturday night to hear bands like The Shoes, The Socks, Contraband, JT and the Gutter Sharks. Went into the restroom one night and Henry Gray was puking his guts out. He finished up and went out and played a set like a boss.
Another night the place was so packed and rocking it ran out of beer. The last couple of rounds were not real cold either. Obviously were digging in their hot beer to keep people happy.

Me and probably 10 of my best friends work at the Caterie in the mid/late 80's. I had the Alamo looking house catty-corner to the Caterie on Perkins. If anyone here was hitting the Caterie during the mid/late 80's, then you'll remember the epic parties we had at that house.
Also, does anyone remember the St.Patrick's day massacre at the Caterie. Huge fight involving the owners, employees and some outsiders? That fight started inside and spilled outside. Blood everywhere. Brian and Dennis didn't fight often but those two boys could throw down when need be.
Anyone remember the "VBF" shot?

I was the original drummer in JT and the Gutter Sharks... One of the best venues we played... Was offered more cocaine there than any other place....
We started playing there in '86... Good times...
We picked up gigs at Sports, Fred's and Murphy's from managers seeing us playing...

Anytime the Gutter Sharks played.
And Kirk Holder. The Sesame Street song always got the place jumping.

My favorite band was Pangea. They only played on Fridays and Saturdays if I remember. Really good band. Played more rocking songs than most others.
I basically lived at the Caterie from 1990 to 1994.
